WEC Flume Model — Wave Energy Converter, Technion

Physics-based engineering models for wave energy converters that balance energy capture with structural survivability, enabling storm-resilient offshore wave energy systems.

A physics-based engineering solution for wave energy conversion. It develops wave-structure interaction models that allow floating devices to move in a controlled, predictable way, enabling energy extraction from ocean waves while limiting extreme loads and fatigue. The work combines high-fidelity physics with design-oriented models that balance energy capture and structural survivability, using controlled structural motion, modularity, and tuned hydrodynamic response — validated for real offshore conditions rather than laboratory settings alone.
